Introduction

 

Thesis Statement:  Track 5 Coffee is small local business in Cranford, the principle of Track 5 Coffee is to bring variety of the best quality coffee to the customers. Using the information system that is used in the store, Track Five is able to provide great and fast service.   
      The company that our group chose is a small local business called Track 5 Coffee. Track 5 Coffee does not have an employee officially titled an "MIS manager", however the owner of the business, Kevin Brennan, is the person who is responsible for managing the company's information systems. Kevin Brennan has a long history in the coffee business, since he first opened Rockn' Joe coffee shop in 1993 in Cranford. He has since sold the franchise but kept the same location in Cranford to open up the new coffee shop Track Five Coffee.

     The principle of Track Five is that it aims to bring a variety of the best quality coffee to their customers. For instance, Mr. Brennan requires his employees to brew the coffee every 30 minutes in order to ensure a higher quality taste for the customers.

    The company offers a variety of specialty drinks including coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, cortados/macchiato, cold brew, espresso shots, and teas both hot and cold. The company has also expanded now to not only provide coffee, but also has a new menu of breakfast sandwiches such
as soufflés with bacon or sausage, bagels, croissants and more. Track Five Coffee plans to display and sell local artists' artwork in the shop this year as well. Track 5 Coffee puts the best quality product and service to the number one principle. In addition, the owner values the environment he provides for customers. The culture of the coffee shop is quiet and comfortable, and that is important to both customers and employees there.

     In addition, the owner of the Track 5 coffee has not contact us back about his educational background but we do know that his professional background is he was a business owner of rock n joes giving him the professional background needed to open up Track Five Coffee. We will add his background to our blog as soon as we contact him.
